Andritz, VTT, Kelheim Fibres, BYK Chemie announced in the agenda

Pira International has announced the agenda for the 3rd annual Specialty Papers conference, examining global markets and developments in technology and manufacturing equipment.
Taking place on 29 November - 30 December 2011 at the Dolce Bad Nauheim Hotel in Frankfurt, Germany, the conference will present 20 speakers, discussing the latest trends and advances.
The day 1 will open with the analysis of global markets. Speakers from Fisher International, Pira International and MEAC Group Holding will talk about new business opportunities and the latest developments in Europe and the Middle East. Later, Bellmer and PAMA Papiermaschinen will discuss the progression in manufacturing processes and equipment.
Chaired by Steve Rosenberg and Holger Baumgartner of Neenah Papers, the afternoon sessions will look into different specialty papers technologies and applications. The hottest topic of the moment - the use of biobased materials for specialty papermaking and coating will be examined by Klass Associates, followed by a presentation from Aalto University. Andritz will speak about wetlaid technology for advanced nonwovens; VTT Technical Research of Finland will explore sustainable packaging materials with thin film deposition techniques, and the day will finish with presentation from BYK Chemie on surface energy and liquid acceptance for paper coating and printing.
Day 2 will be examining innovations in non-cellulosic fibres and printed electronics applications in presentations from Kelheim Fibres, Barnet Europe, Coatema Coating Machinery, Åbo Akademi University and PTS Papiertechnische Stiftung.
"After 2 very successful years in the US we have high expectations for the first European Specialty Papers Conference given the fantastic speaker line up and the really committed work done by the Advisory Board in the planning of this event", Barbara Rojas, Conference Director said.
The comprehensive conference will be complemented with two pre-conference visits, to Kelheim Fibres and SCA Packaging Mill, on Tuesday 29 November 2011, as well as extensive networking opportunities with over 100 attendees, including a drinks reception.
