Graduated in formulation chemistry from ENSCL (Lille, France), Nicolas Lesueur joined Roquette in 2011 as a Business Developer for the paper market in France, Benelux and Switzerland. Alister Farmer started his career in Packaging in 2000 for a major poultry supplier developing different formats and substrates for high speed packing lines supplying the British retail chains. Key project management of plastic reduction in all substrates and moving from multiple plastic substrates to recycled PET trays to enhance shelf-life and recycling abilities. Other projects involved the development of heat sealing PE free aluminium foil trays with modified atmosphere lidding films and weight reduction projects to replace hand packed sleeves with high speed labelling. From 2009 Alister managed the Research and Development for a Northern Ireland based carton board converter suppling many global brands in the food service and retail cartons. Working with ink and coating manufacturers Alister developed fluorochemical free cartons for a global brands. These cartons were certified to EN13432 (industrial compostability) and certified for direct food contact, yet still maintaining grease barrier functionality and recyclability. Recent developments were plant based adhesive for cartons and paper straws and global certifications of food products for the fast food markets and many other polyethylene replacement projects in carton board. Alister now operates his own consultancy business from Northern Ireland striving to increase the functionality of paper and carton board and the recyclability of plastic products to meet the needs of the growing circular economy.
Started with the mill (at that time Peterson Scanproof) in 1998 as laboratory engineer and after a few years worked as process engineer. In 2002 a PhD project on Barrier coating for grease proof paper was started. During that project the position at the mill was as development engineer. The PhD thesis was finalized in 2007. In the two years 2010-2011 the position was as Product Development Manager covering both business units Kraft and Greaseproof in Nordic Paper. The commercial side was entered in 2012 as an Area Sales Director Greaseproof for Central Europe and Middle East. The current position from 2016 is as Product Manager Greaseproof, which covers the responsibility for the products produced in the two mills Greåker (Norway) and Säffle (Sweden).
