The Wisconsin Paper Council (WPC) is the premier trade association which advocates for the papermaking industry before regulatory bodies and legislatures to achieve policy outcomes, & works to educate the public about the social, environmental, and economic importance of paper, pulp, and forestry.
Since its founding in 1968 WPC has served as the voice of Wisconsin’s pulp & paper industry. Our trade association works on a variety of issues affecting the industry including environmental regulations, transportation, sustainable forestry, & energy matters. We are a bipartisan organization and have strong relationships with both sides of the political aisle.
According to a recent independent statewide economic analysis, Wisconsin’s pulp, paper, and converting industries directly generated $18.2 billion in economic output and employed more than 30,000 workers in 2018. The paper industry’s total contributions to the economy came to more than $28.8 billion & more than 95,000 jobs.
